SK *Pravidlá a dôležité informácie*

  • Do konca registračnej doby je súťažiaci povinný organizátorom súťaže odovzdať obrázok postavy (v dobrej kvalite), hudbu/video a všetky povinné údaje v prihlasovacom formulári.

  • Súťaže sa môžete zúčastniť jedine s vlastnoručne vyrobeným kostýmom (minimálne 50% musí byť vyrobených). Kostýmy ušité na objednávku, alebo kúpené sú zakázané! Súťažiaci je povinný doložiť tzv. WIP book - dokumentáciu z výroby kostýmu (fotografie z výroby, atď.) na potvrdenie autentickosti. Dokumentácia sa odovzdáva vo formáte pdf.

  • Pri výrobe kostýmu alebo podkladov pre vystúpenie nesmie byť vedome použitá generatívna AI (napr. generovanie a potlač vzorov na látke alebo generovanie animácií do videa počas vystúpenia). Využívanie textovej AI je povolené napríklad pre preklad textov do iného jazyka.

  • Súťažiaci sa môže zúčastniť súťaže s kostýmom, s ktorým už súťažil na inej súťaži, nie však s kostýmom, s ktorým sa:
    a) umiestnil na inej súťaži na Slovensku, či v Česku, alebo
    b) s ktorým sa už zúčastnil iného ročníka FanAsie (Nipponfestu). 

  • Výnimky:
    - Súťaže sa môžu zúčastniť kostýmy, ktoré získali neoficiálnu Cenu poroty, t.j. cosplay bol vyhlásený ako favorit porotcu ale nezískal vecnú či honorovanú odmenu (print od porotcu sa ako odmena neráta). Pokiaľ sa jednalo o oficiálne umiestnenie, t.j. bolo honorované alebo odmenené vecnou cenou, súťažiaci sa s týmto kostýmom nemôže zúčastniť súťaže.
    - V kategórii Best novice - najlepší začiatočník sa môže zúčastniť iba súťažiaci, ktorý sa zúčastnil celkovo 5 alebo menej cosplay súťaží na Slovensku alebo v zahraničí a zároveň sa na žiadnej z nich neumiestnil - to znamená celkovo, nielen s konkrétnym kostýmom. Školské karnevaly, dedinské jarmoky či halloweenske súťaže sa za cosplay súťaž nepovažujú.

  • Kostým nesmie obsahovať nebezpečné predmety (napr. akékoľvek zbrane, čo by sa mohli považovať za funkčné). Vlastnoručne vyrobené rekvizity zbraní (z dreva, papiera, peny atď.) sú povolené na vlastnú zodpovednosť.

  • Kostýmy by mali byť vhodné pre maloletého diváka, čiže žiadna nahota a vulgarizmy.

  • Súťažiaci musia po svojom vystúpení zanechať pódium čisté (tzn. žiadne konfety, atď.).

  • Na pódiu nesmie cosplayer použiť oheň. Používanie parostrojov a iných dymových efektov musí byť vopred konzultované s organizátorom do uzatvorenia registrácie.

  • Scénka nesmie obsahovať nenávistné či urážlivé prejavy voči existujúcim menšinám. Scénka musí byť vhodná aj pre mladšieho diváka - hrubé vulgarizmy musia byť cenzúrované.

  • Postava musí mať obrazovú predlohu, napríklad zdroj v mange/anime, kreslených seriáloch, filmoch, TV seriáloch, komiksoch, video hrách… atď. (Príklad: pokiaľ sa jedná o postavu z knihy, ktorej výzor má iba slovný opis a jej obraz nebol zverejnený, alebo o váš originálny dizajn existujúcej postavy, jedná sa o original costume, viď. súťaž Original Costume. Pokiaľ cosplayujete knižnú postavu na základe knižnej ilustrácie, jedná sa o cosplay s ktorým môžete súťažiť v tejto kategórii.)

  • Genderswapy a antropomorfovanie neľudských bytostí a predmetov (viď moe gidžinka), s výnimkou oficiálnych dizajnov, nie sú v tejto súťaži povolené, ale spadajú pod Original Costume súťaž.

  • Výhercu vyberá porota. Porota hodnotí kvalitu spracovania kostýmu (vrátane náročnosti využitých technologických postupov a ich rôznorodosť), originalitu/presnosť, prezentáciu a roleplay na pódiu. Porota vyberá víťazov nasledovných ocenení:
    - FanAsia Cosplay - absolútny víťaz s najvyšším celkovým počtom bodov.
    - Best Craftsmanship - víťaz kategórie, ktorý dosiahol najvyšší počet bodov v remeselnom spracovaní kostýmu. (V prípade rovnosti bodov získava umiestnenie účastník, ktorý dosiahol vyšší celkový počet bodov.)
    - Best Roleplay - víťaz kategórie, ktorý dosiahol najvyšší počet bodov z vystúpenia na pódiu. (V prípade rovnosti bodov získava umiestnenie účastník, ktorý dosiahol vyšší celkový počet bodov.)
    - Best Novice - najlepší začiatočník - kategórie sa môže zúčastniť iba súťažiaci, ktorý sa zúčastnil celkovo 5 alebo menej cosplay súťaží na Slovensku alebo v zahraničí a zároveň sa na žiadnej z nich neumiestnil. (Ak súťažiaci prihlásený do tejto kategórie vyhrá FanAsia Cosplay, Best Craftsmanship alebo Best Roleplay, ocenenie namiesto neho získava ďaľší novice v poradí.)
    - Pri počte 20+ účastníkov sa pridáva Cena diváka.

  • Ak sa súťažiaci z nepredvídateľných dôvodov nemôže nezúčastniť súťaže, musí o tom bezodkladne informovať organizátorov.

  • V prípade hrubého porušenia pravidiel môže byť účastník diskvalifikovaný z prebiehajúceho ale i budúcich ročníkov súťaže.

  • Súťažiaci sa riadia pokynmi organizátora. Organizátor si vyhradzuje právo na zmenu pravidiel.

  • Súťažiacim nevzniká nárok na free vstup na festival. Z tohto dôvodu je potrebné, aby si všetci súťažiaci zakúpili vstupenku na festival.

    Priebeh súťaže:

  • Súťaž má dve kolá:
    - Prejudging: Prezentácia kostýmu pred porotou. Každý súťažiaci strávi pár minút s porotou, ktorá bude predovšetkým hodnotiť kvalitu prevedenia kostýmu a splnenie všetkých pravidiel súťaže. Odporúčame priniesť si vytlačený WIP book pre lepšie priblíženie kostýmu porote. Počas prejudgingu môžu porotcovia klásť otázky týkajúce sa výroby a spracovania kostýmu. Porotcovia si môžu kostýmy dokumentovať, nahrávať alebo fotografovať na účely hodnotenia. Zverejniť tieto materiály môžu iba so súhlasom súťažiaceho.
    - Performance: Prezentácia kostýmu/postavy pred publikom. Súťažiaci môže mať vlastného pomocníka. Pomocník môže byť na pódiu alebo v zákulisí, môže ale nemusí mať kostým. Ak je súčasťou scénky, jeho rola musí byť viditeľne iba doplnková, nesmie byť rovná role súťažiaceho (inak budú súťažiacemu znížené body za vystúpenie). V prípade rozmiestnenia rekvizít na pódium môže využiť viacerých pomocníkov. Na rozmiestnenie a upratanie rekvizít môže dodať pomovníka i organizátor.

  • Všetci súťažiaci sa musia zúčastniť oboch kôl.

  • Cosplay súťaže sa dá zúčastniť ako sólista, alebo skupina. Skupina musí cosplayovať postavy z rovnakého zdroja. Sólisti i skupiny budú hodnotené rovnako/spolu. Skupina sa musí o prípadnú výhru podeliť.

  • Odporúčaný časový limit pre sólistov aj skupiny je v prípade promenády (t. j. pózovanie bez scénky) max. 1 minúta a 30 sekúnd. Cosplayeri však môžu predviesť na pódiu aj scénku – v tomto prípade je časový limit max. 3 minúty. Súťažiaci nemusia využiť celý tento čas, je to len vrchná hranica.

  • V prípade promenády posielajte v prílohe prihlášky hudbu, alebo video (1 súbor formátu .mp3 alebo .avi). v dĺžke vášho vystúpenia.

  • V prípade scénky odporúčame aby dialógy, hlasy a ruchy boli pevnou súčasťou nahrávky v dĺžke vystúpenia. Nahrávku posielajte v prílohe prihlášky ako hudbu alebo video (1 súbor formátu .mp3 alebo .avi). Scénku môžete zahrať aj bez zvukového podkladu (v prípade väčších skupín však nevieme zaručiť dostatok mikrofónov – jedná sa však o divadelnú sálu, pokiaľ viete hovoriť nahlas a zvučne, malo by vás byť počuť).

  • K vystúpeniu si môžete pripraviť aj svetelnú réžiu. Prosím informujte nás o nej v registrácií. Video ukážka priebehu súťaže a svetelnej réžie je tu.

 ENG *Rules and important information*

  • All contestants are required to provide the organizers with an image of their character (in good quality), music/video, and all the required information in the application form by the end of the registration period.

  •   You can only participate in the competition with a self-made costume (the person wearing the costume must be its creator). At least 50% of the costume must be made by the contestant. Costumes that are commissioned or purchased are prohibited. Competitors must provide documentation of the costume’s creation (e.g., work-in-progress photos) to confirm its authenticity if requested by the jury. Documentation must be submitted as a .pdf file. 

  •  Generative AI must not be knowingly used in the creation of the costume or performance materials (e.g. generating and printing fabric patterns or generating animations for a video used during the performance). The use of text-based AI is permitted, for example for translating texts into another language.

  • Contestants may participate with a costume from another competition, provided that:
    a) They have not won any prize with it in Slovakia or Czechia, or
    b) They have not participated with it in previous years of FanAsia (Nipponfest).  

  • Exceptions:
    - Costumes that received an unofficial Jury Award may participate in the competition, i.e. the cosplay was declared a judge’s favorite but did not receive a material or financial prize (a print from a judge does not count as a prize). If it was an official placement, i.e. rewarded financially or with a material prize, the contestant may not participate in the competition with that costume.
    - In the Best Novice category, only contestants who have participated in a total of five or fewer cosplay competitions in Slovakia or abroad may compete, and at the same time have not placed in any of them — meaning overall, not only with a specific costume. School carnivals, village fairs, or Halloween competitions are not considered cosplay competitions. 

  • Costumes must not contain dangerous objects (e.g., weapons that could be considered functional). Self-made weapon props (made of wood, paper, foam, etc.) are allowed at the contestant’s own risk.  

  • Costumes should be appropriate for younger viewers, meaning no nudity or vulgarity.  

  • Contestants must leave the stage clean after their performance (e.g., no confetti).  

  • A cosplayer must not use fire on stage. The use of steam engines or other smoke effects must be discussed with the organizers before the registration deadline.  

  • Performances must not contain hateful or offensive expressions against any minorities. Additionally, performances must be suitable for younger viewers—coarse profanity must be censored.  

  • The character being cosplayed must have an official visual reference. Characters must originate from manga, anime, cartoons, movies, TV series, comic books, video games, etc.  (Example: If your character comes from a book and is only described in text - without an official visual representation, it falls under the Original Costume cathegory.  However, if there is an illustration of the character in the book, it qualifies as cosplay.)

  • Genderswaps and anthropomorphized versions of non-human beings and objects (e.g. moe gijinka), are not allowed in this contest, unless they are official designs. These entries belong to Original Costume contest instead.

  • The winner is selected by a jury. The jury evaluates the quality of the costume craftsmanship (including the  complexity, and diversity of techniques used  ), originality/accuracy, presentation and roleplay on stage. The jury selects the winners of the following awards:
    -     FanAsia Cosplay - the absolute winner with the highest total score.
    -     Best Craftsmanship - the contestant who achieved the highest score  for costume craftsmanship. (In case of a tie, the participant with the higher total score wins.)  
    -     Best Roleplay -  the contestant with the highest score for stage performance. (In case of a tie, the participant with the higher total score wins.)  
    -     Best Novice -  awarded to the best beginner. This category is only for contestants who have participated in five or fewer cosplay competitions (domestically or internationally) and have never placed in any of them. If a contestant enrolled in this category wins FanAsia Cosplay, Best Craftsmanship or Best Roleplay, award will  go to the next eligible contestant.  
    - If there are 20+ participants, an Audience Award will be added.

  • If a competitor cannot participate due to unforeseen reasons, they must immediately inform the organizers.

  • Contestants must follow the organizer’s instructions.  The organizer reserves the right to modify the rules.  

  • Any gross violation of the rules may result in disqualification from both the current and future competitions.  

  • Contestants are not entitled to a free entry to the festival, therefore the tickets must be purchased separately in advance. Thank you for understanding!

    Competition procedure:

  • Competition consists of two rounds:
    -     Prejudging: Presentation of the costume in front of the judges. Each competitor will spend few minutes with the judges. They’ll mostly judge the quality of the costume and if all the rules were met. We recommend bringing a printed WIP book to better present the costume. During prejudging, judges may ask questions regarding the design and construction of the costume. Judges are allowed to document, record, or photograph the costumes for judging purposes. Any public sharing of such materials is permitted only after obtaining the contestant’s permission.
    - Performance: Presentation of the costume/character on stage. A contestant may have their own assistant. The assistant may be on stage or backstage and may or may not be in costume. If the assistant takes part in the performance, their role must clearly be only supportive and may not be equal to that of the contestant (otherwise, points will be deducted from the contestant’s performance score). When arranging props on stage, the contestant may use multiple assistants. The organizer may also provide an assistant to help with placing and clearing props.

  • All the competitors must join both rounds.

  • Cosplay contests can be entered as solo participants or groups. Groups must cosplay characters from the same source. Soloists and groups will be judged in the same manner. Only one prize is awarded, so group members will need to share it.  

  • For the promenade, the maximum time limit is 1 minute and 30 seconds. Cosplayers performing a cosplay scene have a maximum of 3 minutes. Competitors are not required to use the full time; these are just the maximum limits.  

  • Competitors may use music or video in their performance (.mp3 and .avi formats). Please send the audio file in advance, ensuring it matches the exact length of your performance. The media file may contain music, self-recorded voiceovers, or any sound effects. Performances can also be without music. (For larger groups, we cannot guarantee microphones for everyone. However, if you can project your voice loudly, that should be sufficient.)  

  • You may also request specific lighting directions for your performance. Please inform us in advance via the registration form.  A video preview of the competition and  lighting  direction is here.
